After Hope is our joint attempt to develop new curatorial and research strategies aimed at cultivating active engagement within existing institutions, art practice, and our communities. What kind of methodology is needed to imagine new ways of presenting and mediating contemporary art and cultural production in forms that are inseparable from daily life, politics, and policies?
Launched as part of the inaugural TRILOGY program at the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, After Hope was designed to consists of an exhibition; workshops and events; and a digital platform. In response to the global impact of COVID-19, we also established an international working group and reading group as a way to build community and discourse amongst participants of the program.
The various agents that comprise the After Hopeprogram constitute its environment. It is a system of internal and external partners—artists, researchers, recommenders, activists, and other institutional actors. As an evolving and dynamic project, the list of those who make it is also always growing. Below are the names of a few of those who have been a part of making this project possible.
New events, programs, and content will be uploaded regularly. If you are interested in getting involved with After Hope or want to keep updated on upcoming events, please contact us at afterhope.aam@gmail.com.
